It’s totally understandable you feel overwhelmed. Realistically, there’s too much of everything everywhere.

So, better change your perspective. Instead of focusing on your competitors, focus on your value. Share what makes you unique and expert. Build a community, invite your customers to take photos/videos and tag your salon in them. You, too, can (and should!) make videos of things you do at work – hairstyling or whatever other treatments you offer.

You said “brands” – and yes, building a brand is necessary. You want people to remember and recognize you. Do you have a logo or at least an idea of how you’d like your brand to appear online? What kind of message would you include to go with that? Think UVP and beyond – messaging through your content, both visual and textual – how you’d like people to feel after interacting with your content or doing business with you?

.. And don’t forget your own personal touch. People want to see people behind business names.

Interaction is equally important – make sure to reply to comments and support interaction with questions and other kinds of prompts.

Use stories to share more content, like quick updates or check-ins, other people’s work, run a poll, etc.

You can also study through some other similar businesses and see what and how they’re doing online. See what you can do better than them, see what you can replicate if it resonates (not directly copy-paste, but idea-wise – every industry has its own particular does and don’ts..)

    Hope this helps!
