It’s not uncommon. It shouldn’t be a big deal if it just specifies current clients and people tied to their business as long as you’re there. Some non-competes will keep you from doing any business in that industry for a period of time after you work there. This is what I would say to be careful of. They can keep you out of the industry for years potentially where you can’t work for yourself or anyone else.
Non competes are basically unenforceable. As long as you don’t try to steal clients away, they can’t stop you from making a living.
If you’re concerned about it, have a lawyer look it over.

Yes but they won’t enforce it unless you’re starting a local competitor and trying to steal their clients or something egregious. Have signed an NCA from a top SEO firm.
If you just get another SEO job after they won’t care. I even did SEO freelance work for non affiliated clients and they didn’t care (and even supported it).
