  • Will buying a lower DR site hurt mine?

So I’m dabbling in the idea of domain redirects and boosting my backlink profile. Niche is the same. I have about 1400 links and 266 referring domains. My DR is 20.

This domain has 52k backlinks with 353 referring domains and a DR of 4.6.

With this sites rating so low, would it hurt my rating and lower my SERP results? Or does it simply add on top?

The answer is it depends you need to check that domain and make sure it has no penalties on it.

Add the domain to Google search console. This is especially important. Another thing you can do is go to the internet archive and look at what the site used to be prior to your purchasing it. If it’s in the archive and it looks spammy there is a good chance it has a penalty. Also research the backlinks look at those and see what kind of sites the links are coming from. Based off the information you’ve given that’s a lot of backlinks to only have a domain authority of 20. That tells me that there is a lot of poor quality links. If you find out the domain does have a penalty you can work to get the bad links removed and submit it to Google once you’ve done this to request the manual penalty be removed also explain that you have purchased this domain and are not the original owner.

350+ RDs with an average DR of just 4.. Don’t redirect that trash to your site.

If you get backlink from spammi sites it will hurt. Otherwise it will not even if DR DA is zero.
