Who’s actually using Bing on Smartphones/Tablets?

Posted by seohelper on June 19, 2020 at 1:09 pm

So I’ve had a lot of success converting cold traffic on Bing, but only after I segmented my campaigns by device (pc, smartphone, and tablet) & network (bing, aol, and yahoo only vs syndicated search partners only). I understand that syndicated search partners are other websites with a search function powered by Bing, which is why there’s pretty significant traffic on all devices.

But I’m confused about smartphones and tablets on the Bing network (Bing, Yahoo, and Aol)… Who’s actually doing Bing searches on smartphones and tablets? Isn’t everyone using Android & iPhone which uses Chrome as default? Are there really that many people who switch to Bing or Yahoo as their default? Sure, it’s not a TON of traffic, but it’s enough that it’s worth it for me to keep advertising on those devices because it makes me money.

    I feel like I’m missing something here…

Not everyone is using chrome + google.

There people (very few) who use bing or ecosia on mobile or also use other browser apps.

It’s daily negligible. And their non-owned and operated publishers need to be monitored closely.

Both DuckDuckGo and Ecosia, two privacy focused search engines, use results from Microsoft.

DDG is also the default for some browsers like Brave and (I think) Vivaldi.

Personally I use Ecosia on both desktop as well as mobile.
