GuestMarch 23, 2021 at 8:16 amKept adding content and backlinks every week – took 8 weeks of consistent work but eventually my site floated right to the top and gets 300 calls a month now.
To say my client is happy is an understatement, and they paid me $2K for the leads I sent them last month π

GuestMarch 23, 2021 at 2:26 pmCreated some viral content and posted it to FB, without knowing it was going to be popular.
Next thing I know I was getting contacted by magazines and high power blogs, educational institutions, police departments to republish.
Resulted in a ton of backlinks. It was a simple graphical chart that took me like an hour to design.
Sometimes you just get lucky.

GuestMarch 23, 2021 at 3:17 pmMy story is so old it’s not relevant in today’s SEO, but it was awesome at the time.
I got into SEO in 2009 to support my business, which was a local brick & mortar. The bulk of my efforts went into rewriting all the content on my site, filling out every listing and directory I could with rich info, and [don’t do this at home] creating a number of blog sites that formed a link ring. [This is pre-penguin, obviously.] I posted to one of them daily, in rotation, every day, with content that linked keyword phrases to my main site. This was 2009-2010 so it was all fair game. And it wasn’t the highest quality content (that went onto my main site), but it wasn’t garbage either.
I captured a ridiculous search term that way, in just a couple of months. I beat the wikipedia page by the same title. Back then, a single site could have multiple listings on the homepage of google, so I captured EIGHT of them (I never quite held all ten, but I was always missing a couple at the bottom of the page). I had my homepage, my facebook business listing, my blogs, video thumbnails, my local listing…it was glorious.
As a result, business went up, I got interviewed twice by [ABC.com](https://ABC.com) for news articles, I was featured on the evening news, and I got a book deal with a major publisher – all because I was at the top of google.

GuestMarch 24, 2021 at 4:09 amOptimizing for better user experience than for search engines really helped and what’s more Google even granted me Position 0 for many keywords.
What I did? I observed the competitors content and wrote it in a better way and presented it with tables which could help a user process the info easily and Bammm Top rankings including Position 0 in a matter of few weeks, Organic Traffic jumped from 5 figure monthly to 6 figures. And Yes I didn’t do any back linking, just relied on pure content. Another advantage was that my domain is 10 years + active in this niche so maybe that could also had helped as majority of competition were new sites in terms of age.
