    Where do people look first?

Posted by seohelper on July 5, 2021 at 10:43 am

So this is a simple question. In a normal Facebook ad, you have the visual (image, video, etc.), the headline, the CTA, the description, and the page name on top.

The question is: rank the sections to what people look at first till last. If anyone can provide actual statistics on this it would help a lot as well.

I don’t have any statistic and it comes just from my gut, but I believe the creative is the first thing that catch the attention. Then I’d say the headline if the creative is interesting enough. I’d love to hear from people with actual data in their hand

I personally look at the following in this order:

    1. Creative
    2. Headline
    3. Comments / Engagement

As far as I know, users look at the image, and then on the letter z:
headline, diagonal text, last words (call to action).

The Facebook research team have published a few things on this. I can’t find them right now but there is this one from Instagram. https://www.facebook.com/business/news/insights/unfiltered-looking-at-instagrammers-through-a-biometric-lens
