  • What would you have wished to know before managing a company’s fb and instagram?

Posted by seohelper on May 11, 2020 at 3:31 am

I am about to start my first freelance gig and will be in charge of managing a small company’s fb and insta and would love to know for those who make a living out of this.

Any possible tip, to Improve workflow, to impresos, you name it, will be truly well received.

    Context:

I know the basics in terms of segmenting audiences, budget management, using facebook ads, and such. However, this company also wants to use Pixel (fb) to collect all data related to purchases from their site, etc.

I used to work as a graphic Designer and have no issues working with Photoshop or Camtasia to edit both photos and videos accordingly.

However, they basically want Pixel from fb to be the core tool behind data analysis for both their social nets and their website and I am not familiar at all with this (Here’s my first ítem on the to do list: learn about Pixel).

If you are already familiar with Pixel, what would you have loved to know when you first started?

I already met with their PR Manager and created a path to analyze the market, the competition, their current social media stats (pretty dead as of now) and draw a in-line strategy to make the overall look and feel of the company more appealing to their targeted audiences.

However, I am quite green in terms of this data Collection from Pixel.

My previous experience, while working on my own site years ago, was measuring stuff from the fb admin page, and on the other side, got a basic knowledge when I used Adsense and Analytics.

    Thanks.

I wish I knew how many “feelings” executives have about social media.

    Create a data pipeline

    Create a content pipeline

Create an approval process including copy-writing provisions and more.

Create a story boards of real and imagined customers.

Each have their own stack of technology and acumen to follow, Some more technical than others.

It seems as if they may be prepping to want everything to be data driven.

Having a solid understanding/agreement on what KPIs are the most important to track/ focus efforts on will help a lot.

Creating the pipeline as suggested before will allow you to not only prove where conversions are coming from but allow you to see at what instances/ pages/ choices purchasers are falling off.

I would have wished to know the engagement for posts and which of the posts get more likes and shares to make my further work easier.

make sure you understand their goals. I was tasked with growth which I thought meant followers, it actually meant more attributed money month over month.

How to be the most efficient I could be. I found that using a document and putting each post with header, content and image in a “marketing map” format and providing that to the customers a month ahead of time so it can be edited, and keeping each month’s posts images/graphics in a folder named for the month it should go out helps posting move faster for sure!

I have been working on this field for a while, and to be honest the one of the best advice I can give is join a training group, or a mastermind with similar people.

It help me a lot to have like minded people help me when I run into some issues, plus it is a good source of referals as well. So you can always collab.
