  • What to do to avoid keyword cannibalization for product description color way pages

Posted by seohelper on September 16, 2021 at 11:10 pm

Basically, my client has different pages for each color of each product and doesn’t want to change that. I’m varying the descriptions a bit for each color to avoid duplication, but there are certain keywords I want to target for each product. How can I avoid keyword cannibalization when putting it on each of the color’s descriptions? Just adding color + keyword. The volume when adding the color in front of the keyword I’m wanting is significantly lower at >10, but maybe that’s still a better way to go!

Edit to add 2nd question: client also doesn’t want to change product names at this point, so I can’t use primary keyword in title without it looking stuffy. Is it even worth trying to target a keyword if I can’t put it in the title?

Can someone point a newbie in the right direction here? Thanks in advance.

Add the SKU in the title tag, meta description and H1 tag.

This will help ensure Google does not think they are all the same content.
