  • What the pros and cons of Buffer and especially versus Hootsuite?

Posted by seohelper on May 17, 2021 at 9:47 am

I’m a Hootsuite user and a legacy one at that. Due to price increases I’m looking at alternatives and Buffer seems like a good choice.

I mainly use it for Twitter and LinkedIn with FB to a much lesser extent.

I have used Buffer before but it was quite a long time ago. The one Hootsuite feature that I find really useful are the image and gif libraries that make it super easy to add a visual to a post. I hope Buffer also offers this too.

Overall, what’s your experience of using Buffer? What are the pros and cons?

Buffer is a good manager of media, however you give up access to the company

If you need a third alternative, I am actually the co-founder of a social media scheduling tool called OneUp.

We have a lot of differentiators, but one of the biggest ones is that we support Google My Business posts, in addition to the main social networks.

I’ve tried so many social media scheduling apps… Agorapulse is the best:

    – way easy to use
    – beautiful interface
    – packed with features (schedule, monitor mentions/replies, respond to comments, Analytics)

And they’re always making the app better. They’re working on a few updates now that will put it even further ahead of apps like buffer and Hootsuite.

If you’re doing manual social media posting, my favorite has been Buffer. It has a simple interface and all the basic features – scheduling, image management, and of course posting. They have also been around a long time.

I also recently saw on AppSumo SocialChamp – I’ve never used it, but it looks decent and for $49 lifetime deal might be worth the risk.

If you’re looking to post to social media via an API then check out Ayrshare. It can integrate with your platform or CMS. I’m a co-founder.

I don’t use Buffer anymore but it’s quite simply unbeatable for the price, especially if you’re working solo.

I use Business Suite for FB and IG. Free and it works fine. I’m interested in hearing other options though.

Well to start with to run many accounts of the same social network is expensive on hootsuite. Second it doesn’t suggest hashtags and doesn’t give you the trending hashtags related and it does not automatically add the picture of the article link you add and I can give 10 more reasons why not to use hootsuite, they don’t give you content related to use either and so much more. I have run hundreds of social media accounts actually thousands for many well known multinational companies and For start ups for the last 12 years and the best out there until now that I have seen is sendible.com

Buffer is better supported and generally easier to use and with a better interface. HootSuite has nearly zero support even if you’re paying for it takes days or weeks and the interface looks like it hasn’t changed since the early 00s.

If you want a digital library, have a look at MavSocial. I dont believe Buffer has one

My favorite has been Sprout Social. Although, I’ve only used Buffer and Hootsuite. Am I missing out??

eClincher has gotten better since launch. It’s one I bought on Appsumo forgot about because it wasn’t great and opened up the other week to be pleasantly surprised.

Very rare I buy into a lifetime deal that improved this much.

The only other time was ConvertBox.

Another great tool if you’re using something charging you monthly to build your list on your blogs.

No doubt it’ll go to a subscription model one day.

So jump on it if it makes sense.

Personally can’t wait for it to go monthly subscription for the affiliate program.

Because Who doesn’t like recurring income from software, right?
