  • What is the impact of foreign backlinks?

Hi! I am trying to rank an English website in the US but I am also living in a Latin American country and working as a Pr Manager. I would like to use my contacts in the pr field to pitch a story that will link to my website but I wonder if it is a smart thing to do considering that the links will come from websites in Spanish with demographics in Latam while I am trying to rank an English website for US queries.
Besides this I haven’t got any backlink at all and I think I can get at least 10 with this tactic.
    What do you think?

If you’re only getting 10 backlinks out of it you’re going to be fine, just make sure they’re high-quality links.

Don’t do it unless the vast majority of your backlinks is coming from Spanish sites. A couple foreign links are fine but if more than 20% aren’t from English sites it’s starting to look fishy. Domain age is also a factor, just be smart about it!

You ever thought about creating a blog in Spanish? You can probably copy some of the big guys are their focuses aren’t on Latam.

Latam is growing like crazy with online sales.

I’ve thinking about starting another blog but this time in Spanish. Targeting more competitive KWs because I figure they won’t be nearly as competitive as English KWs

in the grand scheme of things a few backlinks from non english sites isn’t a big deal.
