  • Turning a multi-city business w/ multiple websites into 1 website?

    Hi everyone,

I have a pottery design business that has four locations in four different cities. To maintain a “local feel” I currently have 4 different websites, as if each location is it’s own independent business.

This is where I’m running into a problem. As far as content creation / SEO goes, this means maintaining four separate blogs, all with unique articles.

Should I just combine them all into one site with different subdirectories?

What are the SEO advantages and disadvantages of turning 4 sites into 1? I hope this question makes sense.

Help me SEO Reddit, you’re my only hope.

    Thanks!!!

It should always be one website per business. Not only for SEO reasons but for usability. Just have one and show the 4 locations on the contact page. No sense in duplicating the services or the about page for each website.

The SEO advantages are that you have on bigger site on (hopefully) page 1 of the rankings than 4 on page 50 of the rankings.

Maintaining the local feel can be done through your content and imagery, not the URL.

It might help to have a separate page for each location if you’re worried about SEO
