I’ve been running a site for a while now that specializes in a certain type of photography (nothing weird). The question I have, is that there are 2 very common synonyms used in his work. On the info articles, would be good to make 2 posts with everything term1, a second post with everything term 2 but also with a canonical link to the first term page?

I’d say create 2 posts targeting each different phrase. Unless it’s literally duplicate content you don’t need to canonicalize

I would need to look at the exact terms that you’re talking about, but if they’re literally have the same meaning you would be better of just creating one page covering the topic rather than taking the approach with canonical

are you talking about having two articles on the same thing but using different words?

Article 1: “The best methods for training cats.”

Article 2: “the optimal tricks for training felines.”

Post a message back if this is what you mean.
