Sitemap Generator Recommendations
Is it necessary to generate a sitemap.xml myself, or is it acceptable to use a third party website/program to generate one for me? I am still new to SEO and have limited experience and knowledge with this type of thing. If you recommend using a third party to generate the site map, please leave your recommendations below.

If you’re using WordPress, there are plenty of plugins for sitemap generation. In terms of 3rd party programs, Screaming Frog (paid version) has a feature for sitemap creation… though I’m not sure if the free version does.

Sitemap xml is great

if you yoast plug-in installed on your wp website then scroll down the general category and you’ll find xml.
Make sure it’s turned on
Then click on see xml and copy the url from there

sitemap.xml is useful while indexing your pages on google. The search console recommends uploading a sitemap.xml file in order to regularly update and index new pages.
If you are using WordPress, you have a free tool YoastSEO that generates the file for you.
For websites other than WordPress, you can search google for “free sitemap generator” as all websites create similar sitemaps. Sometimes there is a cap of 100 pages to include in the sitemap in free versions.
