  • Should I migrate my website?

Posted by seohelper on June 7, 2021 at 1:55 pm

    Hi,

I will soon be changing the name of my company because of a similar name with a competitor that I cannot fight. My current website is getting minimal organic traffic and my links are of average quality but a small amount. Should I still migrate the site or just start from scratch? In fact my current site has been making minimal revenue because of the pandemic.

I don’t have any budget to ask for professional help and am only a small business owner looking to do it myself if I have to migrate.

You can buy a new domain and transfer your existing site to the new domain. End of everything you should redirect your old URL’s to the new url…. It will be a 301 redirect

SK_sabbir is right. Find a new domain name that meets your criteria then transfer your existing website complete and intact. There is no benefit to be had in trashing the current site or its backlinks. Build on the existing site and enhance it.

Read up on 301 redirects – they will save your ass in this instance.

Hey, don’t migrate the website stick on that only. Domain name doesn’t matter. As you are not brand? User will land on your landing page not on your homepage. So my suggestion will be stick on whatever you have, focus on it. You can beat your competitors. Focus on quality content and search intent of your targeted audience.
