  SEO for Contributing Writers

  I have an online magazine with over 6,000 contributing writers of women sharing their own raw authentic stories. I would like to grow this with SEO but obviously the stories won’t rank as they are not SEO optimized. Do De-Index these posts or is there a way to separate the stories that are not rankable to google vs the ones that are?

  My approach:
  – Set all Stories to noindex.
  – Create manual or automated tagging.
  – Set tag pages to index and optimize them.
  – If appropriate, create author profile and set them to index. Might not be appropriate in your case.

  The magic lies in identifying the right tags and then finding the right stories for each tag.

  This is generally a good approach when dealing with uncategorised user-generated content that can overlap and does not focus on short, specific topics.
