  • Search Console or GA – which data should I use?

Posted by seohelper on October 14, 2021 at 9:50 am

Hello! I’m currently analysing an organic traffic drop on my website. The problem is GA is showing a significant drop in sessions (over 40%) and search console is displaying an increase in clicks… Which data should I be looking at to analyse where the traffic has dropped off?

    Any help would be appreciated!

Google Analytics is the one you should go for as it can help you with detailed insights into your website!

GSC is just for conversion related data. Real performance data. Analytics shows a whole raw data includes bots. Don’t compare both. But need to consider both.

GA shows all traffic, not just Google. It could be direct hits, social, Bing/Yahoo etc.

    GSC shows only Google.

If GA shows drop while GSC shows increase, that simply means you’re getting less of non-Google traffic for some reason. Check “sources” in GA to confirm.
