So I have a blog and I want to redirect some of the blog posts to a new site that will have the same content but just be specifically for that genre of content.

Would the SEO juice get passed over? Is there anything special I need to do other than 301 redirects?

301 redirects do pass authority, not 100% of it though.

So long as you redirect the old content to new content or the closest version that makes sense to the user then that’s fine. Google factors in relevancy with redirects.

I’d also review the user-experience here. Will it look suspicious if they click a link and are suddenly taken to a new website? Hence make sure it’s relevant.
