PSA: Check Your FB LLA Adsets
Hey guys,
I recently went into my audiences tab and noticed that 90% of my lookalike audiences were ‘retiring’ and locked. Apparently they were not performing?
I have noticed a sharp decrease in the performance of many campaigns since the start of the month, and only now discovered that Facebook is requiring you to take out ‘location specification’ from LLA audiences built with it. You must remove the location (done in the adset) and then it tells you the audience is updated and can run again.
I only now fixed this, so I have no idea if I can expect performance to go back up.
Is anyone familiar with this issue? Has this happened to anyone else? Shocked I never got a notification informing me that these audiences would be ‘retired’ – whatever that means.
For the past days and weeks these ‘retired’ audiences still show a hearty amount of impressions and clicks – so what does this really mean? Were they off or not? Not sure what’s going on but hope that I fixed it.
