TikTok at the moment has huge organic reach. You can be a brand new account and a good piece of content can go viral with zero followers. The algorithm (very basically) works like this. You post a video and it gets sent to the For You page of a few people. The For You page is like Reddit’s front page except it is different for every user depending on the type of videos they typically watch on the app. So if you are a comedy account, it will probably get shared to the FYP of people who like comedy videos and watch them. Depending on how the first group interacts with it (view times, likes, comments, shares), the video either dies or lives. If the first group of people it gets shared to have positive interaction, the video will get posted to the FYP of a few more and so on. The more positive interaction your video gets, the more it gets posted to more FYPs. You do not need to be verified. I had under 1k followers and one of my videos got 300k+ views in 48 hours and I got over 3k new followers from a single video. That’s a very basic answer but hit me up if you have more questions about it!
