Possibly a stupid question about Facebook A/B Testing

Posted by seohelper on April 20, 2020 at 11:49 pm

Hey guys. I’m creating Facebook ads for my company after an extended break. Noticed some of the ad creation elements changed. Basically, I’m trying to do a split test via Facebook Guided creation.

Feel like I’m going crazy…isn’t there supposed to be a split test/AB test prompt right at the beginning of the Facebook ad creation process? Don’t see it anywhere. It still says on all the current FB documentation you’re to be able to set this right at the beginning. Did something change in the past few months?

I have a similar question about Facebook A/B testing so I am going to piggyback this if OP doesn’t mind!

My company wants to run split tests for different images or different landing pages, but it seems like the only way to do it is to create a separate campaign. We would like to run these A/B tests on the Ad Level. Is this possible?

To answer your question, OP. The A/B testing prompt does show up at the beginning if you have already created a campaign and you are duplicating it.

Another way to set up A/B test is to create 2 campaigns, and then create a test within Facebook’s Experiment tool ([https://www.facebook.com/test-and-learn](https://www.facebook.com/test-and-learn))

OR, in Facebook Ads Manager, you can create 1 ad. Then tick the checkbox of the ad you would like to test, and then click A/B Test. And then follow the prompts to select the variable to test.
