  • Pagespeed – does Google look at individual pages or the entire site?

In general, I’m not quite sure if Google scores my site based on the average score of all my pages, or if it looks at individual pages.

I have 200 pages but I only want to optimizer 20 of these. If the pagespeed is bad on the other 180 pages, will this affect the 20 optimizer pages and their ranking?

My understanding is it’s a page by page basis. By no means is page speed my area of expertise.

Each page is rated for speed individually, *and* the entire website is rated by its slowest page. Page rating is a signal, while site’s speed rating is more of a tie breaker.

In your case, 20 pages will improve, but if they somehow get to compete with other pages that have identical ranking signals, the other 180 will hold them back.
