    Need some help with my Facebook pixel

    I run a Shopify store and I run Facebook ads. Most of the time the Purchase event isn’t triggered. Like, 80% of the time. This really prevents Facebook from optimizing my audience properly. Neither Facebook, Shopify or my PSP is acknowledging this problem and/or are willing to help.

    I’m getting desperate. Does anybody know about this issue? Can somebody point me in the right direction?

    Have you tried using the FB Pixel helper chrome plugin to troubleshoot?

    First – are you using the built in shopify pixel installer or did you try and custom code/use the event set up tool? If, as I expect, you did what everyone does and installed the pixel via preferences in Shopify, the most likely issue is the checkout/payment processor. If you arent using Shopifys checkout and instead are using something like Zipify OCU or Recharge subscriptions (which pushes transactions through their checkouts) you would need to have set the pixel up in those respective apps to pass the data on.

    Also, if you are using paypal or another 3rd party payment processor, its possible that they arent tracking accurately depending on setup.

    Like the other person said though, download the facebook pixel helper plugin for google chrome and run a test order and see if you can identify the issue.

    Sounds like you need to audit exactly how it is set up & whether it is triggering.

    Facebook Analytics / Events Manager is a good place to start without getting too technical using the Pixel Helper or Inspect Elements on Chrome.
