Looking for help finding a social media marketing agency.

Posted by seohelper on September 30, 2021 at 2:03 pm

    Hello all!
I’ve been talking with a couple ad agencies about doing social media marketing management. Im not to confident in what they have told me and they’re pricing was all over the place.

The first one we interviewed was super nice and professional but when I asked specific questions I got a lot of “ummms” and pauses. They admitted to being a newer company which I’m ok with but they wanted $600/month to manage the ads. I pay less then that a month for Google. (Just for comparison idk if that’s good or bad.)

Second company was a joke to be honest. He tried to sell me a course on how to do the ads myself, how to use Nextdoor and yard signs. When I asked him if he manages ads he said “yeah for $3/day… sooo like $100/month”.

I tried Fiverr also but with no success.

I’m having a hard time finding someone and could use some guidance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How much are you spending on Ads? If it’s a small amount, you might have a hard time finding an agency to manage it. If you are paying less than $1,000/month in fees, then the type of agencies you are going to get varies a lot.

Our agency only takes on brands at $5,000/month for a client because otherwise, it’s hard to make the numbers with our fees work.

Hi! I’m no agency guy just a random service provider.

For your budget that’s less than $600 (assuming you’re gonna pay less than that which is absolutely fine), I’d advise you to hire just an individual instead of going after any ad agency.

Good agencies charge good service charges and they should. But you’ll get a decent individual for even like $400-$500 a month and i think that suits you well within your niche.

    Dumb all over.

If you’re the guy making 5k a month from a 600 ad spend then more power to you.

    But you’re not that guy.

You’re marketing isn’t making you money. So you don’t have much to spend.

Not being rude you’re in the same boat as so many. But if I have a toothache I don’t ask a roofer to take a look. I don’t get all these posts from people making marketing spend decisions….that don’t know anything about marketing.

I’m old. When I started out you had to earn your stripes. Seems nowadays everyone’s letting kids with no experience decide how to spend money.

Sounds cool, but imagine that’s a pretty stressful position to be in.

Lucky it’s 2021 and information/training/learning is effectively free. So get good pal, there’s no excuse left.

I am an agency guy and the problem is that small spenders expects same results as big spenders. It takes time to teach algorithms what you are looking for testing audiences to find the right combination. On top of that you have the funnel that need to be working with the ads. A lot of agencies specialize so we stay in the same niche to speed up delivery and optimize chance of success. We charge 20-15% (over $250k a year) on ad spend. We run our own ad accounts for FB safety and credit card points. Everything is already setup in 100’s ad accounts just pick a sub-niche inside our niche and we will have a dedicated account ready. For pixel purposes mostly.

That is how many agencies work these days. I suggest a freelancer that you can talk to or buy a great “how to” book or video from a pro.

Maybe we can work something out. You’re in concrete, and that’s a niche I’d like to test a few things in.

Most agencies will need to charge at least $100/hr to run a profitable business. If you want someone to spend 4-5 hours on your account every month then that’s $400-$500. If you want to do monthly reporting and have a monthly call to talk about results that will take the agency another 1-2 hrs to produce reporting and an hour to sit on the call with you. At that point your at 8hrs or $800. Many agencies don’t bill hourly and many that do bill at a rate way higher than $100/hr. That should give you a range and help you understand pricing better.

Define what your exact business goals are.

Social media marketing can mean many things these days, but you are talking “ad spend” I see this less as social media marketing as I do PPC strategy, but including ad spend on social platforms. Correct?

Your end goal is service leads? Online sales? Awareness?

More ad spend means more data which means a faster timeline to identifying successful campaign.

Sad but true the most challenging clients are those with small ad spend and competitive business verticals. Easier models are larger companies, with larger ad spend.

Successful agencies have very little reason to toy around with $600/mo clients.

Conversely you have a mixed bag of posers, pretenders and the occasional good freelancer in the $50/hour range.

    What to do:
    Agency route:
Find an agency with deep experience in your specific market. Negotiate a 3 month contract to limit your risk. Have them detail out their tool set with their experience and how that is leveraged into success for your, that is what you’re paying for. Any decent agency will look at your marketing strategy from end to end to ensure you have a healthy setup. If they don’t do this, look elsewhere. In the U.S a qualified agency would start at a min of $1,600/month flat fee just to manage your marketing. FYI – High end agencies charge closer to 6 figures/mo for corps with large ad budgets.

    Freelancer:
Seek to find a person who has been the in-house digital marketer for a company just like yours. Often these folks want a little extra side work. This would be your ideal candidate. Use linkedIn to find competitors, find their marketing talent and find your prospects. Hit them with a private message.

    DIY
Its always to your benefit to learn the ropes of digital marketing. This will help you both launch your own marketing, but also identify true talent and select the right marketing resources. Take a 6 hour course on LinkedIn Learning, or use YouTube for free.

    All the best to you

You can try Shoora Vagmine’s Pvt. Ltd. It is a new agency but very promising and charges reasonable prices. You can find their websites on Google by searching ” Shoora Vagmine’s Pvt. Ltd.”

    Hope this helps.
