Link redirects and possible penalty from search engines?
Hey hey!
My friend is making link shortner and he is going to use same link for project and link shortetning. Is it going to affect negatively his website?
Because there might be redirect to adult/gray websites? How does search engines react to that?

If he is putting it on the same domain as other content which he wants to rank then yea I’d be pretty wary of this.
Given that your friend is putting this together, getting a separate domain should be relatively trivial and I’d go for that. Unless they are doing this as a link generation strategy in which case here be dragons, I’d consider an alternative use of time if that’s the main aim
