I think that’s more useful for like if you have a business that doesn’t typically have people come to the business location. Like a pest control company would use a service area since they would go to the customer and not the other way around typically.

No. Completing the service area isn’t “better” in terms of ranking (it doesn’t influence this directly), but you should always fill it out as it’s relevant information to potential customers. Your physical address is what helps you rank for searches within that locale, not your service area. Whether you show your physical address is up to you, though. If it’s not the address to your business location where folks show up, I’d just hide it altogether.

The local map pack is biased against mobile service companies. Which leads to companies dropping a pin to show up on the pack. Which leads to spammy maps. Which leads to misinformation. Which leads a mobile company to scramble to be recognized. Rinse and Repeat.
The problem is this. AI & the tech companies have yet to understand how to display mobile services. And they don’t give a damn either to solve the issue.
