So I have started noticing that accounts are showing up on my feed that I never followed. And I go to their page and it says I’m following them. Which is strange because they’re nobody I know, and they have low post counts, and followers.

Has anyone else had this happen? I’m going to
Change my password, but I’m curious if there’s something else going on. I read that apps with permission to use your Instagram can do this. But I went to the settings on my desktop, and there were no apps in that list. So I’m stumped.

Depending on how many accounts you’re seeing as followed but you believe you never did, these are some possible explanations:
    1) An account / multiple accounts you followed have now changed their names and “niche.”

    2) Accounts you accidentally followed while scrolling through videos by accidentally touching the “follow” strategically placed next to their names.

There’s a rouge chrome extenstion called nano defender that was sold and is now malware.
