I’m a mindset coach for solopreneurs and am sick of Facebook. I’m looking for an alternative to promote my business and build an interactive community. I’m thinking about a private YouTube group or Patreon. Any suggestions?

Patreon is definitely a cool way to 1) give an exclusive feel to the group and 2) provide different kinds of value to different level supporters. If you think folks would be willing to pay on a regular basis for the content, I’d go for it. That said, you’ll need to support the patron from a different, more public platform (like continuing on with your Facebook).

Other possibilities I’d recco are Instagram (great space for motivational posting and sharing quick tips — plus they’re building out features for businesses so many clients might want to be in that space) or maybe even Discord, though I’m not sure how many folks already have Discord so getting them to download a whole app may be tricky.

As the other poster said, IG is a great platform for this type of content, but definitely also consider taking advantage of tiktok while its trending up

Sick of Facebook personally? Agreed I stopped years ago. Sick of it as a business tool to read millions? Not while most of the world still uses it daily and the ads are cheap.

What experience do you have to draw upon to be a mindset coach? Could you create a public youtube series about your story, showing why you are a good coach? Then direct them to a site where they buy a membership with you which you deliver over zoom? I know I’d be reluctant to pay for a private group with a mindset coach if I didn’t know their credentials.
