Social media managers, do you require all your IG posts to be in 1:1 dimension since that is what Facebook and Instagram recommends?

It also displays it in a box so that users can view the whole image without clicking on it.

    What do you guys advise?

This post brought to you by the year 2015.

Post at a 4:5 portrait and maximize the real estate for all of our big-ass screens. And start thinking outside what your pics look like because IG is prioritizing Reels.

Post 4:5. I use Agorapulse to schedule… I thought Buffer allowed you to do 4:5 though. I haven’t used it in a long time though because Agorapulse is so much better.

Definitely not 1:1, much better to shoot for IG portrait. It fills more of the screen and tends to drive stronger engagement.

Later.com is the best scheduler I’ve found that lets you crop inside the content calendar for dimensions that are already accepted by IG. That would be my best recommendation, especially if you’re managing multiple profiles.
