I made Twitter last month for something. The sole purpose was to get help and delete my account so I didn’t put any effort in my account. No pictures, no following or followers.

I scroll down and see recommended accounts. I see a girl who I went sixth form with and her account being recommended to me.

I shared no personal information on twitter that could relate me to her. I thought okay, it’s a coincidence. That’s fine.

Until, 2 days ago. I was on TikTok checking my account when the same girl liked my video. I was a bit taken a back to how my account and hers crossed with millions of people using this app.

I don’t have her anywhere on social media, I did go to school with her. But I don’t have her personal contact info anywhere. She likes my video.

Then the next day I managed to come across a girl I went to school with 7 years ago.

I find it so weird that people that I personally used to know are now being recommend to me. It’s like how do these apps know I know these people? When I don’t follow any mutuals.

It probably recommend based on your location, phone numbers in your phone, etc.

Try to view your social media manager or settings then check permissions they also recommend based on your visits to third-party websites, behavior like tweets that you view or otherwise interact with.
