  I want to buy a competitor’s website, but I don’t know if it will help or hinder me in SEO. Has anyone done anything like that?

  I found a competitor who wants to sell the business, he has lots of good content (and links) so I’m thinking of buying it. But I didn’t want to keep his brand, so I was thinking of importing all of the content and then redirecting with 301 to the new site / content.

  Could this hurt my SEO? Has anyone tried something similar?

  I had a friend who did this. It’s pretty funny seeing the data on Ahrefs. It looks like his site went from 0 to 52 DR overnight
