Forums Forums White Hat SEO I created a blog 2 months ago, it’s hosted on blogger. Now, I want to switch to WordPress.org, would that mean that my blog’s Google Sandbox timer would reset? The URL of the articles will definitely change, would that affect my SEO?

There is no official sandbox timer by Google…so don’t worry about it…

Migrate all your content to wordpress, and implement 301 redirects for all the urls. If you have Google search console set up then I suggest you use “Change of Address Tool”

Doing this will make the least impact on your seo as you are still in early stages.

Also a suggestion: Don’t use WordPress.org instead go for self hosted wordpress.

Using any of these types of sites for you hosting is going to hurt your ranking a lot. I’d definitely go for my own domain name and hosting if I were you.

There’s plenty of cheap hosting out there, you don’t necessarily need to go with the big names. I pay about $23 USD for my hosting per year, plus $8.58 per year for a domain [PorkBun](https://porkbun.com).

My hosting is in Australia and not on sale at the moment, so I wont link it, but there’s plenty out there.

You can use proper permanent redirects to try and transfer your juice, but it’s best to switch domains as little as possible. If you’re going to do it, you may as well make the big jump to your own hosted site.

u/LumpyShock is right. there is no sandbox timer by Google.

You can Change your Host it does not impact your Web but Impact ranking as you have changed the web Hosting, After Few days you will be back on Ranking Path ,

here you may also get Good Ranking as of Changing Hosting.

Personally with just 2 mos in I wouldnt worry too much about the prior URLS and whatever you built up in SEO… and just consider it a new site and your blogger effort was a test run.

If the content is good you’ll quickly rebuild.

I mean if you can utilize the suggestions of others here, great… but I imagine the traffic you have after 2 mos is a fraction of what you want to consider yourself successful.. so dont fret it too much

If you said you were running for 2 years and had decent webhits.. my answer would be different
