How much to spend to get a Google Account Manager?

Posted by seohelper on August 7, 2020 at 5:08 am

At work we’re spending in the range of 1-2k per day, which is about 2-4 average Google salaries per year.

No account manager in sight. We’re relegated to dealing with the heavily outsourced G Ads support for technical help, ad policy review unblocks etc.

How much do we need to spend to get some proper support? Or is this just not a thing. We do have an agency which helps fill in some of the gaps, but not all…

I worked with a popular brand carried in Nordstrom that spent $5K/day…. never got an assigned account manager. I did learn they do it by the quarter (Jan / April / July / Oct) so it can take a couple of quarters of increased spend to make the list.

It is not just about how much you spend as Google (and even FB) can assign you a rep if you are in a fast growing industry/space. We have a client with a Google rep and they spend $10K – $20K/month.

Its about the potential they see in you. Most of the time at least a 5 digit budget is helpfull, but ive also had 2 clients that got an account manager with just 4-5k/month.

Almost half a million per month here. No rep. And I hope it stays this way because they are annoying and useless 99% of time.

    That’s not anywhere near enough.

You’d need to be spending tens of thousands per day and even then there’s no guarantee unless you’re in a niche industry or smaller geography where they’re focusing.

Google is actually cutting back on service to lower accounts, even some agencies.

They are pushing more and more advertisers to larger agencies with premier support.

Moving forward the entire point of Google partnership with agencies is support levels.

Google and Facebook have WAYY too many clients to assign a rep. It’s a losing battle for them as it doesn’t equal ROI either. That’s why there’s been a huge uptick in automated processes.

Facebook is technically worse off because at least Google can auto approve text ads easily but anything image or video based can require manual approval since it’s not as easy to scan.

Do you have a particular issue or you just want a rep?
