How many action blocks before your Instagram account is gone for good?
How many action blocks before an Instagram account is blocked by Instagram permanently? I’ve been trying to unfollow some accounts that I’m no longer interested in and Instagram keeps blocking me. Would this lead to Instagram deleting my account if I get too many action blocks? Each block only lasts a few hour or so.

You can’t get banned for action blocks nor blocked permanently. You can extend it in some cases if you force it while knowing you are blocked, 1 hour -> 3 hours -> 24 hours -> 7 days. That’s as far as it goes.
