  • Has anyone used TikTok?

Marketing products through TikTok has been very successful for me in the past. It’s a form of free marketing and doesn’t require many followers for the marketing to take off. Whether it’s a product, or a public figure, i’ve found TikTok to be a very profitable aspect of my marketing. The only problem is the Target Audience is limited and therefore only certain items can be marketed.

My question is, does anyone know anything about the Algorithm? I’m finding it hard to understand as it’s quite different to the Traditional algorithms (fb, ig, etc). Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Platforms keep their algorithms pretty opaque and they’re constantly evolving. In general, social rewards social, but beyond that, good luck!

Hey! I still don’t know about the specifics of TikTok algorithm, but I noticed some stuff you can do to increase the reach of the content over there.

    – Use the hashtags that are trending and have some relation with your brand.

    – Use the “original soundtracks” from tiktok, both music and audio from famous tiktokers that are trending.

    – Make duos using the original video of the influencer.

It also might help to market your product to the common sub-groups of tik tok (ig LGBT+, dance videos, focusing on friends and friend groups, Twilight, culture, etc.) because the app will only show you content on your FYP that it thinks you’ll be interested in based on videos you’ve liked in the past.

For example, if you’ve just liked 4 videos meme-ing Twilight, you’ll start to be shown more and more videos of Twilight related content. If you’ve liked 7 videos from people in the LGBT+ community, you’re unlikely to see videos of straight couples. So if you only create one video catered to one sub-group, your product will not be seen by as many people as if you take the time to cater it to each sub-group. From there, you can see which audiences are engaging with your video and your product, and you can then start to alter your focus towards those high engagement groups.

Why is that they give you views on your first few videos..and then suddenly drop it down to even below 100.. is this happening with you guys too, or is it just me?
