Google Pushing Responsive Text Ads Harder than ever

Posted by seohelper on September 11, 2020 at 9:06 pm

I was building out a new account today. When making the Ads I was given no option for making Expanded Text Ads.

I had to go into Google Ads Editor to build my ads and then publish them to my account to work around the system.

Between this and the Search Terms Reports updates last week, it seems Google is being very bullish on their algorithms this month.

    Thoughts?

Yea my account manager keeps pushing me to make more RSA’s every session I have with him. I’m very afraid Google will get rid of normal ads one day and we won’t be able to finely craft our own messages anymore or ab-test ourselves. But I’m of the opinion machines can’t replace everything (at least, not yet). Especially not something like ad copy.

Most users can still create ETAs in the web interface by selecting RSA and then clicking a link in the editor screen to revert back. But some don’t have the option.

You can also get around this by copying/pasting an ETA from the existing ad group or another ad group and then editing it. Just be careful not to save it if the ad URL is on another domain.
