Google Ads outstanding payment, never used Google Ads before
I got an email yesterday saying that I had outstanding payments on Google Ads. I’ve never used it before, I didn’t even know it existed. Thinking it was a scam, I went onto Google Ads, and there it was. Payments due from my google account, but not in my name. They were in someone else’s name and address. I have to pay £284 even though I’ve never used it. I suspect someone created an account under my email or something else. Obviously, the 1st thing I did was change my password and enable 2FA. Is there anything I can do? Can I just leave the payments there or do I have to pay them?

How have they set up payment? Is there a credit card associated with the account? If so, the payment will be taken off the credit card once the spend reaches a certain amount. If it’s an invoice then whoever set it up will need to pay it.
