Facebook Click ID Breaking My Advertising Funnel
Edit: This has been fixed! Thanks all. If anyone else runs across the same issue. My web dev partner looked at the .htaccess file and was able to solve. That’s the best advice I can offer for now!
Hello All,
This is my first time running into this issue and I’m hoping someone here can offer some insight because my boss and web developer are no help so far.
If it helps for backstory, this isn’t my first campaign. I have multiple campaigns I run successfully each month that haven’t encountered an issue like this. With all of my campaigns I’ve used the same web developer and never faced an issue like this. I’ve reached out to FB and my web dev guy to try and trouble shoot but no one has been able to find a resolution.
Long story short, the funnels I set up go like this:AdLanding Page (landingpage.com)Survey Page (landingpage.com.survey)Thank You Page (landingpage.com/thank-you)
This setup has worked great for us up until our newest campaign setup.
When testing the funnel, we noticed that the landing page would load all of the content correctly, but functionality (more specifically traveling to a different page) was not functional at all.
As I kept digging I noticed that the FB click ID was still present within the landing page URL(for example instead of the URL being “[landingpage.com](https://landingpage.com)” it would be “[landingpage.com/?fbclid=aoiwfjowi24](https://landingpage.com/?fbclid=aoiwfjowi24))
The click ID would still remain if a user tried to move through the funnel to the next step(for example instead of the URL being “[landingpage.com/survey](https://landingpage.com/survey)” it would be “[landingpage.com/?fbclid=aoiwfjowi24](https://landingpage.com/?fbclid=aoiwfjowi24)/survey”
Is this the cause of my site functionality issue?Has anyone dealt with an issue like this?Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
