Facebook Ads approved and “learning” but not getting impressions
So, I am having the following issue. I created a campaign 5 days ago with settings I’ve since used in another campaign with no issues (the only differences are the target audience and the creatives). I created it from scratch, not by duplicating. Two days ago I made small alterations to the creatives, and they were re-approved with no issues.
Campaign is a split test (testing creative), the type is “Conversion”, the creatives are carousels, the audience consists of half a million people (250K for each ad set in the split test).
Today, the campaign was supposed to start delivering but since the landing page was not live on time, I switched off the campaign immediately after it passed its due date and switched it back on a few hours later. Seemingly, there were no issues – no errors, ad sets and ads show as “Learning”, campaign shows as “Active”.
However, I am getting no impressions on the ads. I’ve given it a few hours, I’ve checked and rechecked everything, it all seems fine… the ads are simply not delivering.Oh, and it doesn’t seem to be an account wide problem because I have an active campaign (Catalog sales) which became active at roughly the same time, and this one IS getting impressions. And there is a link to the same landing page as the other campaign.
The only two issues I can think of are these:
1) Changes were made on the landing page, so it is not the exact same as it was when the ads were approved. However, I think this should have triggered an error if it was an issue, not this silent failure.
2) The interface changed, well, quite a bit from what it was 2 days ago. Carousel creation specifically appears quite different in layout. Maybe something broke?I tried reporting the issue with the campaign. I couldn’t get in touch with support (did the live chat function disappear completely?). Last thing I tried was duplicating the campaign, the new one is still awaiting approval, though.
Does anybody have any ideas? I am honestly at a complete loss.
edit: The problem seems to have fixed itself. All my active campaigns started delivering, according to the logs in the span of 4 minutes (6 ad sets among 3 campaigns). Right in the middle of that I duplicated a page engagement ad set in an already active campaign and it started delivering immediately. Might just be a coincidence, according to the logs the first delivery started 2 minutes before that, so…
Buggy platform, bad feedback, 0 customer support if you are unlucky not to be flagged as “eligible for support” (it is an account with over $200K spent, for what it’s worth…)
That’s Facebook for ya.
