Does this strategy make sense for Google Ads?

Posted by seohelper on October 11, 2020 at 11:24 pm

I am running a video campaign on YouTube that has really broad appeal, but it can be narrowed down to a topic (small audience size) for targeting to make it easier to get initial conversions. Does it make sense to do this and get 100 conversions quickly, get the pixel and campaign warmed up with solid data, and then make a new adgroup that has no targeting (running broad open targeting)? My goal is to eventually have a broad targeting open campaign running at high spend.

As long as you’re running it on Target CPA, yes!

This would be a good strategy on Facebook, but it’s never advisable to have no targeting at all on Google. It just doesn’t work as well.
