  • Does the Facebook algorithm punish accounts for sharing the same link multiple times?

    Hi,

I run a few social media accounts for online news publications. Some of the editors/writers I work with have raised concerns that we might be penalized by Facebook for sharing articles three to four times a week.

I’ve tried researching this but haven’t had any luck turning up conclusive evidence that this affects our reach. Nothing from Facebook itself or any of the popular social media experts, so far.

Just to clarify: I’m talking about sharing the same URL but with different social copy each time, not duplicating posts.

    Thanks!

Publishing any outbound links to your Facebook page will have their reach generally limited unless you spend $ to promote.

Are you talking about sharing the link in one particular channel several times or across multiple channels?
