Does low quality traffic have any influence on ads?

Posted by seohelper on November 11, 2020 at 11:25 am

Quick question: can a low quality traffic from another platform influence the optimization of Facebook or Google ads? Or do the platforms look only at the traffic comming directly from their ads?

For example if the bounce rate from Facebook ads is 75% and bounce rate from Snapchat ads is 90%. And the amount of traffic from each is equal. Will it have any effect on Facebook ads?

I would think if you have your site pixeled, it would only affect audiences that the pixel is collecting data on. For example, if you’re running a Conversion Optimization campaign on Facebook targeting website visitors, or a lookalike of website visitors, and those website visitors are being populated with low quality traffic (regardless of where it came from), then I would imagine it could have a negative result.

It may actually hurt your business, because if you are running retargeting ads also, a lot of RT spend may go towards those people who take no action.
