  • Does a beta version of a website affect SEO?

    Hi,

I have a website which I have totally renewed. The new site is in [**www.beta.originaldomain.com**](http://www.beta.originaldomain.com)
I am going to add to my current [**www.originaldomain.com**](http://www.originaldomain.com) a link to the new site: “try the new beta version”.

I will put the link “no follow” and it will open the new site to a new window.

Will this affect to my [www](http://www).**originaldomain.com** rankings in search engines?

In practice, I guess users will leave the original site and go to the beta site, does google see this as a bad signal and start indexing the beta site? I would not like to index the beta site and not have any affect to the original site.

Is there any tricks for this?

EDIT: it is not a total renew, the site URLs for example are same and the content is almost same, only more language versions and new backend.

I’d noindex, nofollow your entire beta site.
