Hi there. I have built a niche content aggregator site using RSS. The thing is obviously Google won’t like me because the news is turned into posts but it isn’t original content. In trying to bring in traffic: Is there anything I can do to improve seo other than writing a few pieces of my own?
i doubt you’ll site be able to outrank the original content, if it does, they could file a scraper report to google, and google will take action, could blacklist your site/ or reduce your ranking.
It’s always good to add a canonical link to the original source. It won’t guarantee you’ll rank first but at least you are following google’s guidelines for duplicated content and might not get penalized. You can outrank original sources depending on their domain authority and searcher’s profile match.
