Campaign type and targetting to reach a specific profession?

Posted by seohelper on June 19, 2020 at 4:24 pm

A client that sells face masks wants to specifically target barbers since news came out barbers run short on the masks and find them hard to get. I’m not sure what the best campaign type and targetting method is to reach them.

I was thinking of a couple of options and like to know what you think:
    – I don’t know how actively they search for the products so maybe a display campaign with custom intent targetting based on keywords and URLs they are likely to visit, or just use those URLs for placement.

    – since the client also sell some hardware for barbers (it’s a quite a big webshop) i was also thinking i could make an audience based on visitors of barber stuff pages. Use that for a display campaign and/or for search campaign as targetting method.

    – I’m not sure on shopping ads since i need to target B2B and that’s a B2C platform with prices including taxes, but on the other hand I could use the above targeting audience here as well and i could work i guess?

I like to hear your opinions. If you know any better alternatives I’d love to hear those as well.

I think doing a display campaign would be the right way to go, but Google’s been pretty strict about preventing people from advertising on masks and other COVID-adjacent products. Their policies are changing pretty quickly, but you may still have trouble. Facebook might be a better bet.
