Best SEO thing ever…or WORST? (Help)
New to SEO, I had a dream about this SEO idea and It’s either:
***Really stupid.***
***Really against Policy.***
***Really amazing.***
Can you create a domain name that is the EXACT SAME as a keyword phrase, and then 301/302 redirect it to your website you want the traffic to go to?
***Example:*** Keyword phrase is “Wedding photographer near long beach”. Buy domain that is [Weddingphotographernearlongbeach.com](https://Weddingphotographernearlongbeach.com) And then 301/302 redirect it to your wedding photography page.
Don’t burn me on stake here, again I’m super new. Just had a dream about this as I’ve been obsessing over SEO lately.

It’s not a new idea.
Dodgy SEO’s have been doing this for many years. Doesn’t work, and nobody is going to type that into the url bar.

This EMD used in the URL. I would like to suggest you do not used excat match domain in the URL, it’s against the Google guidelines. many years ago,it was good for SEO but now it’s against the Google guidelines.

Exact match domains are a ranking factor, but a small one. If there is no content on the domain, or if it’s a brand new domain being redirected then it will have no effect.
It won’t do any harm, but it won’t do any good either.

It won’t index if you redirect it.
