Google has updated its help documents to allow car dealerships to have multiple Google My Business listings within Google Local and Google Maps. Google said a single car dealership can have a listing for each brand it sells, plus a listing for each brand’s sales, parts, or services departments.

The only way this can work is is Google labels your Google My Business listing as a dealership and that would unlock this feature. Google wrote in the help document:

    >New car dealerships are eligible for multiple listings. You can have one listing for your dealership and one listing for each brand you sell of new cars.
If you want additional listings for the departments within your dealership, for example, sales, parts, or services, repeat the process above using the name of your dealership with the department name. When your listings are verified, contact support to have your service department labeled as within your dealership.

Is this only true for cardealers? We are a spice company with more then one brand and weve also thought about creating another google my buisnees listing.

Does this make any sense for us?

Great place information, thank you. I just spoke to a potential client in this industry for a long term contract for there dealerships and new dealerships they open. I would love a link with more than information.

Have you got an official source for this? Great info!

The department delineation has been available for a while. I don’t think dealers want multiple pages for multiple brands either…it just gets too confusing and the stores have the EXACT same information per brand anyway (ie. a Chevrolet Buick GMC dealer).

This is pretty insane. A car dealership in one location could potentially have 10-20 listings for crying out loud

Yeah, whilst this is awesome, I worked with automotive websites for a few years, I think the better way would have been augmenting the current GMB listings for shops that have multiple brands in them.

Not only would this sort out dealerships, but maybe fashion stores aswell.

This way, we’re not also flooding local with up to 20 different listings for each brand of car sold.

Still. Better than it was before!

Not that helpful, IMO. Will be better if it’s all listed under one so the reviews/specials stack cleaner.
