A/B price testing with CPA bidding strategy
Hi guys,
I did A/B price testing using Google Optimize. I tested my product for $35 and for $50 value. And after 1000 sessions I received 20 transaction for lower price and 24 transaction on higher price. Sessions were distributed evenly.
After that results I decided to pick a winner which was higher price.
BUT after running higher price for approx. 1 month I realized that I have extremely lower conversion rate as I previously had had with lower price. Even more the conversion rate was dropping step by step without any sudden drop.
My question is: Is it okay to perform A/B testing on smart bidding or it is better to do testing using manual cpc? Is it possible that with smart bidding the campaign becomes more and more affected with this change (price) and after a month or two the campaign ended up with lower performance…or I just ended the experiment to soon, with too little conversions?
What are your thoughts on that? Any opinion?
