    Yes. I would spruce up your resume and work on side projects. Find ways to use your interests at your current job.

    For instance, if you want to become a software engineer then find ways to insert Python or automation into your workflow.

    A lot of people I know transitioned from SEO to:

    * Marketing Director

    * Data Analyst

    * Software Engineer (Python)

    * Product Manager/Director

    * Business Intelligence/Analysis
