A lot of people might disagree with me here but it’s really not important. It’s one thing if you’re a chiropractor in Towson, Maryland so you name your business “Towson Chiropractors” and register [towsonchiropractors.com](https://towsonchiropractors.com) as your web domain — you’ll be highly likely to rank when someone searches “Towson Chiropractors.”

But if you’re running a music blog… I mean… just look at the music blogs that currently rank well. How many of those mention “music” anywhere? I literally can’t think of any off the top of my head. Blabbermouth, Loudwire, Brooklyn Vegan… none of those mention anything about music.

Moral of the story — no, you don’t need to name your site [musicblog.com](https://musicblog.com) in order to rank against other music blogs.
