If you had a pre-existing website running for a while, look in the search console and see what search terms have been driving traffic to your website. These are the ones you want to bid on initially, along with any brand terms or long-tail keywords that have a high intent to convert.
The ad copy needs to just be relevant to the keyword and the landing page – don’t try to make it clever. Once your ads are running you can check the search terms to see which ones are converting and focus your spend towards them.
We have a client that’s a private dentist + private doctors, we run really successful campaigns on google for phone call conversions based on people that live nearby or at have search terms containing the location. It’s quite complex to set those up properly, it’s one of our more complex accounts but it’s worth it because one’s the structures in place you don’t need to spend much more time on it.
